A new member emailed this in - it's two videos shot at the republican convention this summer
showing police way over-stepping their bounds with innocent college age kids and peaceful bystanders who were literally just sitting quietly in a public park - and wham - they are surrounded and arrested. There needs to be much more public awareness of incidents like this that skirt the edge of police brutality. Since when is it illegal to just sit in a public park? Have a look: ========== Hi everyone, In case you have not already seen these, I am sending you links to two brief videos. The videos are of a massive arrest on a large crowd of peaceful people on labor Day (Day 1 of the Republican National Convention) and of a follow up on a group of young people who's home was invaded by police without real reason. The mass arrest was on a crowd of fairly diverse, average people, from what I could tell. The home invasion (and confiscation of computers, journals etc) was on a house where a large number of young people with opposing views to the republican party were staying. While someone with a more conservative view could say, well, they were young, not in college, look like young punk kids etc, the bottom line is that they did nothing illgeal! So whether you agree with their lifestyle or not, they have every legal right to be who they are. It will be clear to see that these police actions were unwarranted. I'm not trying to instigate fear, I am attempting to raise awareness. Mass Arrest in St. Paul Massive police raids in Minneapolis |
